Helping San Diego Families Make Confident Real Estate Decisions

Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest financial decisions most people will ever make. When you add an inherited property, probate, a family trust, downsizing, or a rental property, it can quickly become overwhelming.

You don't need someone to pressure you into making a decision. You need someone who will listen, explain your options, answer your questions honestly, and help you make the decision that's right for you.

I'm Maggie Clemens, a San Diego Realtor®, Real Estate Wealth Advisor, Navy veteran, real estate investor, and Listing Specialist with Coldwell Banker West. For more than 17 years, I've helped homeowners and families navigate some of life's biggest real estate decisions. Combined with my 25-year career in automotive sales, I bring more than 40 years of negotiation experience to every client I serve.

Long before I became a Realtor, I built my business by earning people's trust. My philosophy was simple: my job wasn't to sell someone a car—it was to help them make the right decision for their needs. I never believed in high-pressure sales, and over time my clients came back again and again because they knew I would always put their interests first.

Many of those same clients later trusted me to help them buy and sell homes. That trust has been one of the greatest blessings of my career and continues to guide how I work with every client today.

One of the biggest lessons I've learned is that real estate is emotional. Whether you're settling an estate, helping a parent downsize, selling a longtime family home, or deciding what to do with an investment property, there are often difficult decisions to make. My role is to help keep emotions from driving those decisions while making sure you understand your options and stay focused on your long-term goals.

I believe people make better decisions when they have good information. Most homeowners only buy or sell a handful of homes during their lifetime, so it's completely normal not to know what you don't know. My job is to educate you, explain the process in plain English, answer your questions honestly, and help you avoid costly mistakes.

Over the years I've developed expertise in inherited properties, probate sales, trust sales, downsizing, rental property sales, 1031 Exchanges, and helping homeowners understand the financial impact of their real estate decisions. While I work closely with your tax and legal professionals when appropriate, my focus is helping you understand your options so you can make informed decisions with confidence.

Real estate has been an important part of my own life for decades. I purchased my first home in 1986 using my VA loan when mortgage rates were in the high teens. That experience taught me early that real estate is one of the most powerful tools for building long-term wealth when approached with patience, planning, and sound advice.

When I'm not helping clients, you'll often find me on the golf course, spending time with my dogs, or enjoying everything San Diego has to offer.

If you choose to work with me, I promise three things: I'll always be honest with you, I'll always put your interests first, and I'll help you navigate the real estate process with the same care and attention I'd want for my own family.

Whether you're ready to sell now or simply looking for honest answers about your options, I'd welcome the opportunity to help you make a confident, informed decision.

Maggie went above and beyond on every level with the sell of my home. Not only did she walk us through the whole process from the first meeting but also helped us to successfully ready the home to be put on the market. The time and effort she put into the transaction was something I had never experienced with an agent. She walked us through every phase. We had several offers and she educated us on how to choose the right buyer. The home sold much faster than I thought it would and the whole process went very very smooth. Thank you for making the closing of this chapter stress free and moving us faster into our next dream.

Maggie was such a pleasure to work with. She is professional, kind, and truly knows her stuff. Being on the other side of a transaction with her, you can feel how much she cares and how hard she works for her clients. Anyone would be lucky to have her as their realtor.

I've known Maggie since her car days... a lot has changed since then. What hasn't changed is that, in a field rife with people who only look out for themselves, she stands out as someone who truly cares about people. I know this sounds cliché, but in Maggie's case it really is true. I'm not just going to say so, however – I'm going to prove it with a story – a recent one. After moving out of state years ago I recently decided to buy a house, and after a few twists and turns, I started struggling with my agent. The fact that I am a first-time home-buyer is only compounding the matter. Reluctantly, and fearful of bothering someone I hadn't spoken with in years, I got desperate enough that I picked up the phone and called Maggie for help. I needn't have worried. After not hearing from me in quite a while, Maggie spent a considerable amount of time out of her work day on the phone with me breaking down the entire situation bit by bit. She told me what was important (and what was not), validated my feelings, told me that it was going to be okay, saying I could call her back if I had any more questions. A week or so went by and – you guessed it – I had more questions. Reluctantly (again) and fearful I had worn out my welcome, I dialed Maggie, and wow – she was even more kind and accommodating than she was the first time. She spent nearly an hour on the phone with me – first calming me down, then making some pretty helpful suggestions. My transaction is not over yet, but I will say one thing – I am a whole lot calmer now than I would be if Maggie hadn’t talked me down. Things continue to come up, but in the back of my mind I still hear her voice expressing care and concern, while at the same time centering and guiding me forward toward the day when everything will be in my rear-view mirror. I could go on, but let’s just say that for someone who is unfamiliar with my state’s real estate laws – and zero chance of getting one penny of a commission on the deal – I have been taken care of as if Maggie has been my realtor since day one. In the process, I have been reminded what real care and concern looks like, and some of my faith in humanity has been restored. Guess who has an open invitation to stop in and stay as long as she likes when passing through my town?
